Making of gold leaf Buddhas is a long and intricate process. First the Buddhas have to be hand carved from wood. Next a number of layers of priming paint are added to give the gold leaf something to adhere to. Then the gold leaf is hand painted on to the Buddhas. Finally the small coloured mirrors and beads are added.
