Parasite wood is so called because it seeds itself onto other trees, it is a parasite the same as holly is a parasite. Parasite wood is a light wood made particularly distinct due to the contrast between its' smooth white surface and the mushroom wood like texture of the parasite woods underside. These faces are carved into the naturally occurring shape of the parasite wood taking advantage of it's rustic shaping and contours. The result is that every carved face is unique, a brilliant mixture of the craft mans carving technique and natures infinite subtlety of design.
